12th August Mt Ngungun, Glasshouse Mountains National Park
Sick and tired of being back at uni already and want to get out for some cool beginner friendly climbing in the great outdoors then this is the trip for you!
Mt Ngungun is located in the Glasshouse National Park roughly one hour North of Brisbane. It is the smallest of the Glasshouse Mountains but it still provides a huge amount of rock to climb on. This is the perfect way to step out of the urban environment and experience climbing in a total natural environment.
The club will be setting up top ropes and we will be climbing at Andromeda in the morning and Battery wall in the afternoon!
This trip is for paid members only so make sure you head out to your portal and sort out your membership ?
What to Bring:
-Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sleeved shirt etc.)
-Water (There is a tap at the base of the mountain but its a 20 minute walk from the cliffs)
-Any climbing gear you own (Especially harnesses, helmets and shoes)
– Mosquito Repellent
Time: Meet at 7:30am at Chancellors place, UQ at the main bus stop. Leaving at 7:45am.
Meet at 9:00am at the carpark located at the base of Mt Ngungun.
Note: please contact Drivers to check you can ride with them
Note2: We are very respectful of environment we climb in, littering is not tolerated and that includes toilet paper in the bush ? The closest bathroom is accross the road from the IGA when you enter the town, so make sure to stop there before driving to the car park! The goal is to leave the place cleaner than we found it ?

A friend and I will be at gungun from sunrise onwards tomorrow if you’d like some help (although we’re pretty unknowledgeable, so maybe just moral support and music)setting up. Give us a buzz if you’re setting up before 9 🙂
