Sometimes when you’re getting into the outdoors you need special gear to go that little bit further. This gear sometimes isn’t cheap (like a full climbing rack, or a Personal Locator Beacon), so the club provides gear for members to borrow. Gear hire is available to all current members, and club equipment is regularly used at the clubs bi-weekly climbing nights at Kangaroo Point.

We have a variety of different climbing gear and are currently expanding our gear for hiking and orienteering. If we don’t have the kind of gear you are looking for, please let us know, and the exec will consider purchasing the equipment you are looking for.

How to Borrow Gear with the UQMC

Contact uqmountainclub@gmail.com to borrow club gear. A deposit of $50 is required if you want to borrow club equipment valued at more than $100 . The deposit is refunded when all gear items are returned in the same condition they were hired out in.
